1. Who is responsible for your data
This website — thekitchenjoyhub.com — is run by the individual creator behind Kitchen Joy Hub, based in Spain. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that makes me the data controller for the information described in this policy.
You can reach me about anything on this page — including any request about your data — at hello@thekitchenjoyhub.com. I answer personally.
2. What I collect, and why
Your email address — only if you subscribe
If you sign up for the newsletter or download a free printable, I collect your email address, along with the date you subscribed and which form you used. That's it. I don't ask for your name, your address, your age or anything else.
I use it to send you recipes, baking tips and occasional news about my ebooks. Nothing more.
The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You give it by entering your email and submitting the form, and you can take it back at any moment — see section 6.
Technical information collected automatically
Like every website, this one runs on a server, and that server keeps short-lived logs to stay online and secure. Those logs may include your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested. I don't use this to identify you or build a profile — I mostly never look at it at all.
The legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — namely keeping the site running and protected from abuse.
3. Cookies and tracking
There is no Google Analytics here. No Facebook or Pinterest advertising pixel. No advertising network, no session tracking, no cross-site profiling, no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, this page changes first, and I'll ask you before setting anything non-essential.
One honest exception worth naming: this site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers and Google can see your IP address when a page loads. This is common across the web, but it is a real data transfer and you deserve to know about it. Google's handling of it is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Because I don't track visitors, there is nothing for a browser "Do Not Track" signal to switch off. You are already not tracked.
4. Who else can see your data
I don't sell, rent, trade or share your email address with anyone for their own purposes. A small number of service providers process it on my behalf, strictly to make this site and its emails work:

Because these providers are based in the United States, your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which are the safeguards GDPR requires for exactly this situation.
I may also disclose information where I'm legally required to — a binding court order, for instance. That has never happened and I don't expect it to.
5. If you buy an ebook
All purchases go through Gumroad, which handles the checkout, the payment and the delivery of the file. Your payment details never touch this website and I never see your card number.
For that transaction Gumroad is its own data controller, with its own privacy policy and its own terms — please read the Gumroad Privacy Policy before buying. I only receive what Gumroad shows a seller: that a sale happened, and the buyer's email address for delivery and support.
6. Your rights
If you're in the EU or the UK, GDPR gives you a specific set of rights over your data. I extend all of them to every subscriber, wherever you live — it would be strange to do otherwise.
- Access — ask me what data I hold about you, and get a copy.
- Rectification — have anything inaccurate corrected.
- Erasure — ask me to delete your data entirely. I will.
- Restriction — ask me to pause any use of your data while something is being sorted out.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable file.
- Objection — object to my use of your data for direct marketing, at any time and for any reason.
- Withdrawing consent — take back your subscription consent whenever you like. It doesn't affect anything sent before that point.
The easiest way to use them
To unsubscribe: click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email I send you. It's in every single one, it works immediately, and you don't have to explain yourself or ask my permission.
For anything else: email hello@thekitchenjoyhub.com and say what you need. I'll respond within 30 days, which is the deadline GDPR sets, and usually much sooner. There's no charge.
If you're not happy with how I handled it
You have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Since I'm based in Spain, that's the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) — www.aepd.es. You can also complain to the supervisory authority in your own country. I'd rather you emailed me first so I can fix it, but the right is yours either way.
7. How long I keep your data
Your email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it — then it's removed from Kit and it's gone. I don't keep a shadow copy, a backup list or an "in case she comes back" file.
Server logs are kept by Netlify only for a short technical retention period and are then deleted automatically.
8. Keeping your data safe
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The subscriber list lives inside Kit, protected by a strong unique password and two-factor authentication. Only I have access to it.
No system on the internet is perfectly secure, and I won't pretend otherwise. But the amount of data involved here is deliberately tiny — an email address and a date — which is itself the best protection I can offer you.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults who bake. It isn't directed at children, and I don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, email me and I'll delete the record immediately.
10. Links to other sites
This site links out to Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok and Gumroad. Once you follow a link, you're on their turf and their privacy policy applies, not mine. I have no control over what they collect.
11. Changes to this policy
If I change how this site handles data, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant — a new tracking tool, a new purpose for your email — I'll tell subscribers by email before it takes effect, not after.
